Beckie Coupe Bio
Beckie was born and raised in Prince George, B.C., where she began her dancing career. At the age of 8 she began studying dance at the Excalibur Theater Arts center in Prince George under the direction of Bonnie Leach. A few years later she began competing in Highland dance, as well as many other forms from Ballet to Hip Hop, all throughout British Columbia and Alberta where she won many prestige awards and scholarships. Beckie also completed all required Highland dance and theory exams through ScotDance Canada earning top standings and was invited to compete nationally in California for Highland in both dance and theory. As a dancer, she was given the opportunity to study under many prestige instructors and choreographers from across Canada, the United States, and Scotland as well as perform in many musicals such as “HAIR”, “My Fair Lady”, and “Miss Saigon”. Beckie has also choreographed for large stage musicals such as “Grease” and “Bah-Humbug! – A Christmas Carol Musical”.
While completing her degree to become a Registered Nurse, Beckie developed her skills as a dance instructor and choreographer in Northern B.C. As a teacher, she enjoys expanding her knowledge and love for dance as well as encouraging younger generations to pursue their own love and passion for the art of dance!
