Lisa Marie McFarland Bio
Lisa was raised in Abbotsford. She started dancing at Abbotsford Dance Center at the age of six. She studied all Genres of dance danced for over 12 years. Training in Acro, Ballet, Contemporary, Contortion, Jazz, Lyrical, Modern, Musical Theatre, technique class, Tap, Song & Dance, Hip Hop and even a bit of Rhythm Gymnastics. Lisa competed with large groups, small groups, duos, and as a soloist, receiving various awards while competing. Throughout her dance education growing up Lisa had many teachers and very fond memories. Dance consumed her life outside of school. Besides being home to sleep she spent more time at the studio then at home. Dance was a major part of Lisa’s life growing up and will always be passion of hers. Lisa started assisting classes while still in highschool and started with training/teaching in little steps program.
Lisa has been instructing for the past several years, her main focus is teaching acrobatics and contortion. Lisa loves teaching students tricks and passing on her passion of the athletic art form. She creates a fun, friendly, safe and positive environment for her students to learn and grow in. Lisa enjoys working with a variety of ages and levels. She is most excited to pass her love for dance and the art on to others.
Currently Lisa is working on her Level 2 Acrobatique certification. This past summer Lisa traveled and took aerial art and fitness classes to learn further and expand her knowledge, studying from other acrobats. Lisa has found inspiration through her students to continue growing, to teach them further and create the best experience she can for them.
